Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64 bit. A graphics card with Direct3D 11 support, which every computer of the last ten years has. For the depth AI of the PRO package a computer with at least 8 GB of memory is recommended.
We recommend to install the free Adobe DNG Converter to add support for compressed file formats of new cameras, such as the Nikon Z8.
The setup installs the main program, the catalog server and the card copy tool. Without a license code, fotoARRAY runs as the Free Edition with no time limit. Enter a license code and it becomes fotoARRAY PRO.
The download is a signed installer by WPCubed GmbH.
During setup you can choose to download the AI components. You only need them for the advanced features of the built-in RAW processor.
To uninstall, go to Windows Settings › Apps. fotoARRAY keeps its settings in a folder under %APPDATA% and stores a few values in the registry. It makes no other changes to your system and installs no programs outside its own folder.

The AI package is installed over an existing fotoARRAY 3 installation. It adds the content detection model and the depth AI model with its runtime. It does not contain a license; the programs use the license of the installation, or the 30 day test.
The "Free" Editoon does not need this download.

The setup asks for a folder and puts the program there. Nothing else is written to the system except the settings in the registry. To uninstall, delete the folder.
At the first start fotoARRAY asks for a catalog file. Put it on a fast drive with enough room for the previews. A catalog with about 400,000 pictures needs roughly 60 GB.
Open the import dialog, add the folders and start. You can browse while the previews are being created.
The import dialog has a page for catalogs of the previous version. Pictures, thumbnails, stars, colours, keywords and albums are taken over. The old catalog stays untouched. This import will be offered for a new catalog. But it is also accessible through the taskbar icon menu of the fotoARRAY Server.
The register dialog in the menu offers a 30 day test of most PRO functions. No name, no e-mail address.
When the test ends, the program falls back to the Free Edition and keeps everything you made. To buy a license, see the buy page. The complete list of differences is on the editions page.
